Potential Causes of Cystic Acne
Having acne is not fun for anyone. It can be even worse if you have a severe form of acne known as cystic acne. This type of acne involves cysts that form and can fill with fluid. Cystic acne is painful and can make you feel awkward about the appearance of your face. There are a variety of risk factors for cystic acne.
There is one primary risk factor for cystic acne that you cannot really prevent. There is not much that you can do if you have a genetic predisposition for acne. If you have parents or other family members that have a history of acne, you might as well. The best thing that you can do is attempt to reduce your risk of acne by avoiding some of the other potential causes of acne.
Try to avoid cystic acne by being healthy in all areas of your life. Do not smoke tobacco products or drink in excess. You should not be sedentary but rather you should exercise. You will also want to eat foods that are healthy for you. If you do not take care of yourself, your skin will suffer which can cause acne.
Facial soaps and other facial products can sometime actually cause acne. Cystic acne can result from using products that are too harsh on the skin. If you do not use hypoallergenic products or use products that are scented, it can sometime result in the formation of cystic acne.
Too much stress in your life can show on your face. Stress can be another link to acne. In the worst of cases, it can actually cause cystic acne. This is one of those triggers that sometimes cannot be helped since it is often not easy to avoid stress.
Too much testosterone in men and the fact that men have more oily skin can cause acne. In women, improper levels of hormones can cause cystic acne. Women sometimes develop acne when they are pregnant. This is one of the causes that you cannot prevent.
