Which Home Remedies For Acne Of The Body Are The Best?

What is body acne?

Body acne is simply the acne that appears on your body. I’ve had to deal with my fair share of it, and I have to say that it is yuck!

Body acne is often worse than face acne, because the acne nodes are usually bigger, deeper, and more painful. Body acne also usually takes longer to go away.

In this article I will show you 3 home remedies for acne and tell you if they work.

Home remedy #1

Toothpaste. This is the silliest of all the home remedies that I will be talking about today, but some people swear that toothpaste really works to get rid of body acne.

What you do with the toothpaste is apply it directly to the the acne nodule, and let it dry. This won’t actually hurt your skin, or make it worse, but it doesn’t really help either. Personally I give this home remedy for acne a thumbs down.

Home remedy #2

Witch Hazel. This one is a little better. Witch Hazel is a natural astringent and can be found in any drug store or pharmacy for just a few dollars a bottle.

To use witch hazel as a remedy for acne, simply put it on a cotton ball and apply to the acne. You will probably notice that it is very soothing. For mild cases of body acne this treatment can help.

Home remedy #3

What you want is a body wash or solution that contatins Salicylic Acid. Salicylic acid is one of the best ingredients on the market today for clearing acne and keeping it from coming back. It’s a true way to cure body acneIf you can get it in a boody wash, it is even easier to use for body acne.

Salicylic Acid can fight acne really well on it’s own, but when you combine it in a product that contains citric acid, you really have a winner that will clear acne fast.

This one is a little more pricey (usually about $20 a month) but is in my experience the best cure for a home remedy for acne on the body.

What are The Best Home Remedies For Acne Of The Body?

What is body acne?

Body acne is acne that forms on your chest, back, butt, or arms, or anywhere else on your body that is not your face. I’ve dealt with it personally, and I have to just say ewww, it’s yucky.

If you apply toothpaste directly to the acne nodule, it won’t hurt, but in my experience it doesn’t help either. It just doesn’t have enough active ingredients to do much good. So as a home remedy for acne on your body, I would probably avoid this one.

Home remedy #2

The next home remedy has a funny name, witch hazel. Witch hazel is actually a natural astringent, and you can find it at any drug store for just a few dollars.

To apply witch hazel, just use a cotton ball and apply it directly to the pimple. Witch hazel is very soothing, and will reduce the redness of the acne. I recommend this home remedy for mild acne.

Salicylic Acid is an amazing acne fighting ingrediant, especially when combined with Citric Acid. When you put these two ingredients together they pack a powerful 1-2 punch, and clear up acne fast.

This body acne home remedy is a little pricier than others at about $20 a month, but it gives you some of the best weapons to get rid of body acne and keep it from coming back.

What You Should Know About Acne

Mar 29, 2009 @ 04:02 pm by Lucille Green
by Lucille Green

There are many types of skin problems that affect people around the world but the most common is acne and while it may seem to be a teenage condition, it would be a mistake to believe that adults cannot suffer with it as well. Although not confined to teenagers, it is usually at this point in their lives when it is more likely to show and the figures indicate that as many as 9 out of 10 people will have acne at some time during their life.

Generally, acne is the result of excess oil or sebum in the hair follicles but this is not the only cause nor does it mean that over production of oil equals acne either. Acne is the result of the sebum in the pores and not the skin itself although the condition does seem to be a modern problem and not something we have always had to live with.

Although it is possible that clogged pores that cause acne might be due to the hormone changes every teenager faces or even from cosmetic products that have not been removed fully from the skin. Even out diet can play a part in the cause of acne as much of our diet today is made up of unhealthy processed foods.

Sometimes when acne is difficult to cure, a dermatologist will suggest a different type of medication which is more effective but may require more time to work. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed. The person suffering with acne must remember not to scratch at or attempt to remove and pimples as any bacteria carried beneath the nails could cause further infection.

Unfortunately just because fingernails look clean does not mean they are, and as bacteria are usually invisible to the naked eye, there is no guarantee that an infection cannot be passed on. It is for this very reason that anyone who suffers with acne should not touch their acne with their bare hands.

As very few people have completely blemish free skin, there is a good chance that if you haven’t had acne that you may well experience it at some stage especially if your parents suffered with it as well. By far the biggest reason for acne is when a youth child enters into puberty and the change in hormone levels associated with that period.

When the condition is affecting the individual both physically and emotionally then this is a good time to take advice from a dermatologist. Please be aware that the information here is provides as a guide only and does not try to replace the professional guidance supplied by a professional about the condition and treatment of acne.

Honey: Honey has some excellent antimicrobial properties we can make use of to get rid of your acne. Take two tablespoons of honey and rub onto your face before going to bed. Wash off with lukewarm water in the morning.

These are some of the more popular acne home remedy treatments. As to which one is the best acne treatment, you will have to experiment for yourself. Many people have found great success with these pimple treatments. The key thing is to stick to a regiment and give it at least a month before switching to something else if it doesn?t work.

by Shelly McDermont

There are changes in level of hormones during pregnancy that results into some unwanted bodily changes. One obvious change can be seen through skin such as the presence of acne that could mean problem to women. No one likes having acne, but during pregnancy it can be difficult to deal with.

During the breakout of unwanted changes the self-esteem of pregnant women goes down. The choice of treatment is very limited because it might affect the development of the unborn child. Pregnant mothers do have options for treating acne.

To prevent the harm it may cause to their baby, pregnant women can go for a medical consultation. This way, results would be in great favor with babys health. Putting the baby first when treating the acne is important.

Acne medications can be just around the corner but these medications are not for pregnant women. Medications that contained Tetracycline, Salicyclic Acid, Tretinon, and Isotrentinoin should be avoided. Tetracycline causes poor bone growth and yellowish teeth to the baby while Isotrentinoin (Accutane) was believed to cause birth defects, miscarriage and infant death.

Though controlling acne while pregnant can be risky it is still possible for pregnant women to achieve pimple free skin. A few simple remedies may do the trick. Just follow these steps, and you can be acne-free very soon.

They must prevent touching or pricking the acne. Everyday they can wash their face two to three times with luke warm water and a mild oil-free cleanser. Natural acne controlling products for pregnant women might be available. Drinking a lot of water also help for skin to be hydrated.

Once the baby is born, acne will start to disappear. There may be acne marks that will remain but various treatments would now be available. Acne during pregnancy isn’t something to stress about anymore.

Fitness Infos - Weight Loss Center

Mar 29, 2009 @ 11:25 am by Dani Maurer
by Dani Maurer

If you are interested in losing weight, you may have thought about joining a weight loss center. Weight loss centers are often used to describe weight loss programs that are locally operated. If this is your first time looking to join a weight loss center, you may be unsure as to what you should look for in one. An important part of joining a weight loss center is finding the weight loss center that is perfect for you and your own individualized needs. For that reason, there are a number of factors, which are outlined below, that you will want to take into consideration.

One of the many factors that you will want to take into consideration, when looking for a weight loss center to join, is the location. With gas prices high, many individuals find it difficult to travel long distances. You will have to pay money to become a member at a weight loss center; therefore, you should be careful about adding on extra costs, like the cost of gasoline, to your membership. If, at all possible, you should look for weight loss centers that are conveniently located either close to your home or your place of business.

Speaking of costs, as previously mentioned, you will have to pay to become a member of a weight loss center. This cost will vary depending on the weight loss center in question. On average, most weight loss center memberships are around twenty or thirty dollars a month. With that in mind, it is possible to find weight loss centers that cost more money. If you are on a budget, a weight loss center membership fee may have an impact on the weight loss center that you chose to become a member at.

You will want to take the time to examine each weight loss center that you come across. For instance, you should be able to find some weight loss centers that only have weekly or monthly meetings or weigh-ins for members to attend. On the other hand, there are weight loss centers that may have exercise classes or a fitness gym, which you should gain access to as a member. If you are able to find a quality weight loss center or one that comes highly rated and recommend, higher membership fees may be worth it.

When looking to find the perfect weight loss center for you and your needs, it may be a good intent to do a little bit of research. With the internet, it is cushy to review a company or a program, like a weight loss program. With a standard internet search, preferably with the study of the weight loss center in question, you should be healthy to come crossways program reviews or online discussions. Research is not only a great way to find weight loss centers that have great reviews, but it is also a great way to learn of any weight loss centers that you should refrain or ones that are known for not being worth the costs.

The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you will want to take into consideration, when looking to find a weight loss center to join. Although many weight loss centers come highly rated and recommended, it is important to find the weight loss center that can best fit you and your needs.

Want To Clear Your Acne? Here’s A Treatment That Works - And Fast!

Mar 29, 2009 @ 11:21 am by Grant Dougan
by Grant Dougan

Numerous individuals have tried several different acne treatments without actually having any success in getting rid of their acne. It’s sad as dealing with acne is a great frustration! However, it’s important to understand that it’s completely possible to clear acne once you realize how to effectively treat it.

I’m going to quickly look at why most acne treatments don’t actually work.

The trouble with 99% of the acne products available is that they are formulated to only cover up or treat pimples AFTER they have already appeared. They only act to handle zits one at a time rather than treating acne at the root of the problem.

This is a massive flaw! What’s the point of trying to eliminate a pimple if you aren’t also trying to prevent new ones from forming? It’s a big annoyance of mine that the acne product companies completely ignore this, but I imagine it’s so that you don’t ever entirely do away with your acne and are forced to continue buying their products.

You must find a treatment that targets all of the things that cause acne if you really want to eliminate your acne. To eliminate your pimples, you have to treat all of the following - bacteria that causes acne, skin irritation, clogged skin pores and excess oil on your skin.

And it’s totally possible. You won’t find much selection in the stores, you will find acne treatment systems that are formulated to touch on all of the causes of acne. The great acne solutions will treat all of the causes and work like a system to clear your acne.

It’s impressive how quickly you can see results by taking this path. In less than a week your face will show sizeable improvement and quickly after your skin will be clearer than you might have imagined. It’s a fantastic feeling being able to look at yourself and seeing the improvements.

Don’t get down if you have made use of products in the past that never worked! You will eliminate your acne once you obtain the right treatment for your skin.

Should You Review Arbonne For Acne?

Mar 28, 2009 @ 04:36 pm by Felix Schmieder
by Felix Schmieder

If you know any of my other work, you know by now that I’m a sucker for natural acne solutions. I think they’re more beneficial for your face than the chemical alternatives that all the medicinal companies promote. Imagine my surprise when I came across Arbonne’s acne line.

If you don’t know, Arbonne is a multi level marketing/internet marketing company that produces many high quality skin care products that are made with natural botanicals, vitamins and oils rather than harsh chemicals. I think this is great as I think the typical chemicals that people use to treat acne can contribute to more acne breakouts as well as cause your skin to look pretty dull after repeated use.

I only say this because over the years, I have used many different chemicals on my face. While some made me look good initially, eventually they all made my skin look pretty dull. The worst culprit was benzoyl peroxide. This made my skin look absolutely terrible and all it did was keep my acne in check; it could never clear me 100%. Others, like salicylic acid aren’t bad when used sparingly but again they never seemed to clear me.

There’s a slight problem when it comes to reviewing Arbonne. My face is already clear and I just can’t bring myself to try and make myself break out. That would last about a week before I started falling back into my old regime to keep me clear. Arbonne is also only available through their reps so you can’t look around to find a better deal. So no cheap trials for me.

My compromise? Leave it to the people at acne.org to review Arbonne for acne. If you’re unaware, acne.org is one of the best resources for people with acne. It’s comprised mostly of people who are trying to help each other figure out good ways to clear up their skin. One section of the website is dedicated strictly to reviews of products as well as homemade acne treatments. This is one of the best places to go for reviews of acne products because it’s comprised of normal people just giving their honest opinions.

So what did the reviews on acne.org have to say? They gave the Arbonne system a 3.5 out of 5 which is pretty good actually. Most products don’t make it past 3. Now while this is good, I might recommend that you look around a bit more for other solutions. It’s about $40-$50 for their entire system and for that amount of money, I would want to be seeing at least 4 out 5. However, many people are having success so if the money isn’t much of a concern, give it a try. Chances are that you’ll see success with it.

While Arbonne has some very nice ingredients, the price factor and the possibility that their product might not work for me are what put me off. Arbonne really doesn’t have much control over this and it isn’t their fault if it doesn’t work, but I wouldn’t be able to pull the trigger if it were me.

Ultimately, I think you should give homemade solutions a shot before trying to review Arbonne for acne for yourself. Homemade alternatives cost much much less than the Arbonne system and if they don’t work, you can try something else. You could try out 5-15 home solutions for the price of one arbonne system. If cost doesn’t bother you much, give them Arbonne a try, though. It might work great for your face.

Got Acne? Want To Clear Your Skin? Here’s How!

Mar 28, 2009 @ 02:27 pm by Grant Dougan
by Grant Dougan

Getting rid of acne is a task that many individuals consider to be downright impossible - many people have used several products that didn’t do anything. It’s unfortunate as dealing with acne is a huge frustration! Have no fear though - getting rid of acne is entirely possible.

I’m going to speedily look at why almost all acne treatments don’t give you results.

The trouble with 99% of the products available is that they try to just cover up or treat zits after they have already appeared. There treatments don’t truly address the problem, they merely attempt to treat one zit at a time after they are already on your skin.

This is a big problem! What’s the point of trying to get rid of a pimple if you aren’t doing anything to stop new pimples from forming? I’m annoyed that the acne product companies completely ignore this fact, but I imagine it’s so that you don’t ever entirely eliminate your acne and are forced to continue buying their products.

You must use a product that treats all of the factors that cause acne if you really want to get clear skin. There are four main causes: extra oil on the skin, acne causing bacteria, skin inflammation and plugged up skin pores. Knocking out acne means you must address each of these causes.

And it’s totally feasible. You won’t find much selection in the drugstores, you can find acne treatment systems that are formulated to touch on each of the causes of pimples. The most effective acne treatments will target all of the factors that cause acne and work like a system to treat your skin.

If you use a treatment that really treats the causes of zits, you will see improvements in just a week or so. It’s a terrific feeling looking at yourself and notice the results.

Saying goodbye to zits is not only achievable, but it’s actually incredibly simple once you use the correct treatment system.

Your Acne Doubts Cleared!

Mar 28, 2009 @ 05:32 am by SkinCareGenius
by SkinCareGenius

There are many misconceptions about acne despite being one of the most common skin conditions around the world; the main belief being that it only affects young people. While it is true that acne will often become apparent during the formative years, many people do in fact find it a temporary condition although as many as nine in every ten people will suffer with at some point in their lives.

While the naturally occurring oil we produce called sebum does in fact clog the hair follicles, it is not the only substance to blame for the condition of acne and neither is oily skin either. Acne seems to be a condition that is not necessarily a natural one and something that past generations did not suffer with.

Fortunately acne can be treated and one off the many causes of this condition is the hormone adjustments made when a person is growing up although it can also be as a result of makeup that has not been removed fully or pollution. Other factors can be responsible to, like the consumption of too much junk and reprocessed food, which is high in unhealthy sugars.

For a recurring or severe case of acne, many sufferers turn to a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment and in most cases, a prescribed routine and medication can help to treat acne. Usually, follow-up visits will be necessary to that the acne is being cured without further intervention being required.

The person suffering with acne must remember not to scratch at or attempt to remove and pimples as any bacteria carried beneath the nails could cause further infection.

This means that fingernails need to be kept clean and not dismissed because they look clean as almost all bacteria and germs are invisible to the naked human eye. To be on the safe side it is always wiser for an acne victim not to touch any of their pimples with their hands just in case.

The chances of perfect skin are virtually zero and you are more likely to suffer with acne if your parents also had the condition. Although the likelihood is that you will suffer from acne during your years at school and college.

When the condition is affecting the individual both physically and emotionally then this is a good time to take advice from a dermatologist. This article is based on information readily available but should be used as a guide only, so if you are unsure, contact a medical professional about your condition.
